29 Aug Size doesn’t matter … but we think you’ll love our biggest sheds
We always say we want to help you get the right shed for your needs, which is absolutely our mission. We have thousands of satisfied customers because we’ve been able to do just that.
For some people with limited space, that means one of our smaller options, such as the Keter Factor 6×3, which – at just 1.78 metres wide and 1.14 deep – is perfect for small yards, units and townhouses.
On the cedar side, the Birch 6×3 is a little wider but less than a metre deep, while the Windsor 4×6 and Richmond 6×4 are both slightly bigger, but hold quite a bit of stuff considering their small footprints.
When it comes to garden sheds, we couldn’t possibly pick our favourites, but if you have enough space, lots of things to store, and/or the need for a shed to do some work in, we don’t think you can beat our biggest sheds.
So … how big is it?
The top of the range in Stilla cedar sheds are the Hollydean 16×8 and the Chatswood 8×16.
As the dimensions are expressed in terms of front width, by side depth, by peak height, the Hollydean is the ‘wider’ one while the Chatswood has the door on the narrower side.
The Hollydean is 4.8 metres wide, 2.48 deep, and 2.55 metres high at its peak, while the Chatswood is the same height, only 2.48 metres wide and 4.8 deep.
Both have a capacity of around 24 cubic metres (more if you factor in some of the peaked roof space as usable storage capacity, which we haven’t).
The major difference between the two is the orientation, which also means that the Hollydean comes with a double colonial style glazed door as standard, whereas the Chatswood has just the single door (being on the narrower face).
Why would I want such a big shed?
Why wouldn’t you want the biggest and best shed you can get?
It looks great, is extremely versatile, and adds value to any home.
Our classic Western Red Cedar sheds fit just as perfectly in modern, urban surroundings as they do in more leafy or open rural settings.
If you’re looking for a workshop, a home office, an art studio, or just a spare room as a retreat from a noisy, growing family (or a place to send the noisy ones so the house is more peaceful for a little while), we recommend you consider the Hollydean or Chatswood.
But it’s a bit too big …
Not everyone has the space in their backyard to put a shed with a footprint of nearly 5 metres by 2.5 – no matter how stunning it might be!
Never fear. Like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, if the 6×3 and 6×4 options are a bit too small and 16x 8 is too large, perhaps 12×6 or even 12×8 might be just right.
One look at the Maple 12×6 and you can see why it’s one of our most popular sheds. It looks great and it looks big … but not too big. And those double colonial style glazed doors, with matching windows either side, put the ‘class’ in ‘classic’!
If you want to go that little bit larger, the Master 8×12 and the stunning Willow 12×8 are also on our long list of favourites.
